Marcelo Garcia

Marcelo Garcia is a member of Mission on Earth advisory board. Marcelo is a Smart Cities Expert with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and IESE (pppcities.org), who constantly participates UN conferences around the world. Also Marcelo have been invited to talk at a UNHCR panel with the Deputy High Commissioner about Refugee Connectivity – the topic of a previous TEDxGeneva presentation and focus of his Swiss non-profit BroadLights.org – which has deployed telecom solutions in extremely harsh environments such as war zones.

Mercelo Garcia was born in Rio de Janeiro, but based in Europe since the last millennium. The list of countries that visited Marcelo is huge – 125 countries, while communicating with people in nine languages.

One of Marcelo’s achievements is creating the WAY (Wisdom Accelerator for Youth) concept for high potential global teenagers with the flagship event taking place in Davos every year during the WEF, as well as smaller events in multiple locations around the world. Also Marcelo is a Swiss Chapter Chairman of Explorers.org, the Club of “Famous Firsts”.
